3-6" Cobble is a naturally rounded river stone graded to a 3 to 6 inch size, washed clean and worn smooth by water. It comes in a mix of earthy grays, browns, and tans that read as natural in the landscape. The stones are hand to fist size, which makes them a workable accent for ground cover, borders, and dry creek beds.

Why It Works
Rounded stones that look natural and let water move
These stones are rounded by water, not crushed, so they have the smooth, water-worn look people want around a creek bed, a pond edge, or a planting bed. The 3 to 6 inch size is big enough to stay put when rain runs over it and small enough to spread and rake by hand, which is why it works well as a top layer or a border you set yourself.
Because the stones are rounded, water runs between them instead of sitting on top. That keeps a dry creek bed draining and keeps a low spot from turning to mud. Lay landscape fabric down first and spread the cobble about 6 inches deep so the stones don’t work their way into the soil over time.
