Shot Rock

Shot Rock is unprocessed blasted bedrock straight out of the quarry, delivered in a wide, unsorted range of sizes from small pieces up to large chunks. It's a bulk structural fill for raising grade, bridging soft or wet ground, and building up a site before finer material goes on top. When you need mass and stability and you're moving real volume, this is the material to start with.

Why It Works
Angular rock that builds a stable mass.
Shot Rock is fractured straight from the rock face, so the pieces are angular and irregular. Those rough faces lock against each other when placed, which gives you a stable, load-bearing mass instead of a pile that shifts. The wide range of sizes is the point: larger pieces carry the load while smaller fragments fill the gaps between them.
That combination is what makes it useful over poor ground. It bridges across soft, swampy, or wet areas where finer fill would just sink or pump, and the open structure lets water drain through rather than pool. For raising a site, backfilling deep, or stabilizing ground that won’t hold under load, Shot Rock does the heavy structural work that goes underneath everything else.
