Also known as: 1" Clean Stone, 1" Washed Stone, #1 Crushed Stone
1" Crushed Stone is a clean, angular crushed stone graded to roughly 1" in size with the fines washed out. It sits between 3/4" stone and 1.5" stone, which makes it a strong pick for drainage, foundation backfill, and pipe bedding where you want more open void space than 3/4" but easier handling than 1.5". The angular faces still lock together for stability while water moves through freely.

Why It Works
Clean stone that drains and stays put.
Because the fines are washed out, 1″ Crushed Stone doesn’t pack tight the way crusher run does. That open structure leaves plenty of void space for water to move through, which is what makes it reliable behind a foundation wall, around a perforated pipe, or in a drainage trench. The angular faces still interlock under load, so you get stability along with the flow.
The 1″ size gives you more void space than 3/4″ stone without going all the way to 1.5″. On wet sites, soft ground, or jobs where a smaller clean stone would clog over time, that extra room pays off. It carries weight, it backfills cleanly, and it keeps draining after the freeze-thaw cycles the Hudson Valley puts it through.
