Decorative Stone & Boulders

Baby Boulders

Also known as: Small Landscape Boulders, Mini Boulders, One-Man Boulders, Accent Boulders

Baby Boulders are the smallest grade of natural landscape boulder, generally in the range of a foot or so across - small enough for one or two people to set by hand without machinery. They work as garden accents, bed borders, and edging where you want the weight and permanence of real stone without the size of a feature boulder. Because they are natural stone sold by weight, each one is a little different in shape and color, which is the point in a landscape setting.

Applications

  • Garden Accents & Focal Points
  • Bed & Border Edging
  • Low Decorative Walls
  • Rock Gardens
  • Erosion Control On Slopes
  • Natural Landscape Detailing

Why It Works

Real stone at a size you can place by hand.

Baby Boulders give you the look and permanence of natural stone at a scale that doesn’t require a machine to set. A boulder in this range is light enough for one or two people to move and position, so you can place it where you want it and adjust until it looks right. That makes them practical for accent work, bed edges, and small rock gardens where a larger boulder would be overkill and harder to handle.

They are natural stone, so the color and shape vary piece to piece. In a landscape that variation reads as natural rather than uniform, which is what you want. Sold by weight rather than by exact dimension, they cover a size range instead of a single spec, and that mix is part of what makes a grouping look like it grew there.
