Cold Patch
Also known as: Cold Mix Asphalt, Cold Patch Asphalt, Asphalt Patch, Pothole Patch
Cold Patch is a ready-to-use asphalt mix for filling potholes and cracks without heating or special equipment. You shovel it into the hole, tamp it down, and the patch is ready for traffic. It works in cold and wet weather, which makes it the go-to repair material through a Hudson Valley winter when hot mix plants are closed.
Applications
- Pothole Repair
- Driveway Patching
- Asphalt Crack Filling
- Parking Lot Repair
- Road Maintenance
- Winter Patching
Why It Works
A permanent-feeling fix that works in the cold.
Cold Patch stays workable at low temperatures, so you can make a repair in January without firing up a plant or renting equipment. The binder is formulated to stay pliable and bond to the surrounding pavement, which is what lets a bagged or bulk product hold position where a dry fill would just wash out.
The application is simple. Clean the loose debris out of the hole, fill it slightly above grade because the material settles, and compact it with a hand tamper or by driving over it. Once it’s compacted, the patch takes traffic right away. That speed is why municipalities and contractors keep it on the truck for quick fixes between bigger paving jobs.
