Aden Infield Mix

Also known as: Infield Dirt, Baseball Infield Mix, Ballfield Mix, Skin Material

Aden Infield Mix is an engineered blend of sand, silt, and clay built for the skinned areas of baseball and softball fields. It runs sand-heavy with enough silt and clay to bind, so it firms up into a true, stable surface when it's worked at the right moisture and compacted. This is the base skin material for the infield, the basepaths, and the area around the mound and plate.

Applications

  • Baseball & Softball Infields
  • Basepaths & Sliding Areas
  • Pitching Mound & Home Plate Areas
  • Field Renovation & Regrading
  • Low-Spot Repair on Existing Skins

Why It Works

The sand-clay balance that holds a true surface.

An infield surface has two jobs that pull against each other. It has to stay firm enough to give a true hop and hold a cleat, and it has to shed water without turning to soup or baking into concrete. Aden Infield Mix is blended for that balance. The sand gives it drainage and workability, and the silt and clay give it the binding it needs to set up firm.

The mix binds when it’s brought to the right moisture and compacted in lifts, not dumped dry. Worked correctly, it grades smooth and holds its shape through a season of play and weather. It’s the base layer of the skin, the material the whole infield is built on before any top dressing or conditioner goes down.
