Sand
Mason Sand
Also known as: Masonry Sand, Mortar Sand, Brick Sand
Mason Sand is a fine, washed sand screened to a smooth, uniform grain. It's the sand bricklayers and masons reach for - clean enough to mix into mortar, fine enough to feel right under a trowel. It also makes a soft, safe fill for sandboxes and play areas because it's washed free of silt and debris.
Applications
- Mortar for Brick, Block & Stone
- Paver Joint Filling
- Sandboxes & Play Areas
- Concrete Finish Work
- Fine Leveling & Smoothing
Why It Works
Fine, washed, and easy to work.
Mason Sand is finer and more uniform than concrete sand, and it’s washed clean of silt and fines. That fineness is the whole point. In a mortar mix it blends smoothly with cement and water, spreads cleanly, and holds a joint without fighting the trowel. The consistent grain means the mix behaves the same batch to batch.
The same clean, fine grain makes it a good fit outside of masonry. It packs into paver joints, fills and smooths small gaps, and gives sandboxes a soft texture without the dust or grit that comes from unwashed material. Where you need sand to finish nicely rather than carry a load, this is the one.
