White Rock Salt
Also known as: Halite, Sodium Chloride, De-Icing Salt, White De-Icing Salt
White Rock Salt is high-purity sodium chloride, screened to a consistent crystal size for spreading on snow and ice. It lowers the freezing point of water to clear and prevent ice on roads, lots, walkways, and steps. The "white" grade carries fewer insoluble fines than standard brown rock salt, so it leaves less grit and residue to track indoors and clean up afterward.

Why It Works
Clean, consistent salt that melts on contact.
Rock salt works by lowering the temperature at which water freezes. Spread on snow or ice, it pulls moisture in and forms a brine that breaks the bond between ice and pavement, so the surface can be cleared. The screened, uniform crystal size spreads evenly and feeds spreaders without clumping or jamming.
The white grade is a higher-purity salt with fewer insoluble impurities than standard brown rock salt. That means less leftover grit and residue once the ice is gone – useful for storefronts, entrances, and high-traffic walkways where people are tracking in and out. Like all sodium chloride, it does its best work in moderate cold and loses bite as temperatures drop well below freezing.
