1.5″ Crushed Stone
Also known as: NYS #3, 1-1/2" Crushed Stone
1.5" Crushed Stone is a clean, angular crushed stone graded to approximately 1.5" in size. It's a workhorse product for drainage and base applications where you need something heavier and more open than 3/4" stone. The angular faces lock together under load while still leaving plenty of void space for water to move through.

Why It Works
When the job calls for something heavier.
The larger size means more void space than 3/4″ crushed stone, which translates to better drainage capacity in high-flow situations. It’s a go-to for foundation drainage, heavy base layers, and areas with poor soil conditions where a smaller stone would migrate or clog. The angular profile still provides good interlock and stability, so it performs structurally as well as hydraulically. When the ground is wet, the soil is soft, or the load is heavy, this is often the right call.
